existing graphics images, giving you a brand new web design.
There are 3 price categories which vary depending on the type of layout-design.
Some layouts require more complicated work such as image slicing or mapping, or involve
more graphics pieces and detailed work in general.

All About Pricing...
It's hard to put a fair price on graphics
especially for personal websites.
Most personal sites are hobbies & people can't or don't want to pay for all those graphics.
Realizing that, I set my prices low - But the question becomes
What's fair for both of us?

comparison
a $40.00 Webset that took only 24 hours to make
(which is rare)
Amounts to $1.66 per hr.
(*minus any monetary outlay for resources).
Minimum wage for non-skilled labor is about
$5.15 - 6.50 per hr.
So while $40.00 seems pricey for your hobby, it's practically a pittance to the designer.

Issues & Solutions
-Something I've noticed very recently is that more & more graphics suppliers are understandably charging for their graphics supplies.
Many good sites have closed or gone commercial. Digital scrapbooking is predominantly purchaseware.
In general, it's becomming more difficult to find free graphics resources.
The 5 choices are to:
Set up a donation option
Make your designs shareware
Sell the graphics high
Sell the graphics low
Forget personal & go commercial
It's a judgment call. Most people donate zero.
Shareware is a good option, but the downsides are: many images we use prohibit commercial use and there are many other talented
graphics designers with free linkware to compete with.
Doing commercial design is extremely competative, free/cheap images are less available and it is much more difficult and involved.
Since most can't or won't pay what the designs are really worth, you may decide that it's best to
price high - if you sell 1 or 2 you've done well.
But pricing high also runs the risk of selling nothing at all.
The alternative is to set your prices low in order to get more people that opt to pay for reasonably priced graphics.
something is better than nothing and a little can add up to more in the long-run.

what's involved in creating graphics:
TIME/WORK. Thinking up design themes & structuring them, Creating/photographing & gathering useable images & necessary graphics resources, many hours of experimentations w/ the images, coding, colors, styles & fonts; lots of trial & error, creating & maintaining your own website
to display the graphics/services, answering many Email questions & comments...
STUDY. Learning the Coding (which changes often), doing graphics tutorials/learning new techniques including filter use, learning color 'rules' & structure info for uniform websets, constantly learning to use new editing, graphics & filter programs...
COST. Domain Costs (for your ad-free pleasure:), graphics, zipping & code editing programs (usually pricey), other materials you buy to create your own useable images, cd's, stock photos, fonts/dings, pay memberships for image/graphics sites, filters/plug-in software can be very pricey...
CREATIVITY. How do you put a price on your unique idea? It takes creativity to make things which doesn't always come easy.

When you take everything into account, it's hard to be fairly compensated for what goes into a Webset.
For me personally, it's more of a hobby. I love art, graphics and being creative so it's not about an income for me.
I hope this info has been helpful to you in some way.
